Beulah is now searching for a Music Director. The job description follows:

Music Director - Beulah United Methodist Church

General Job Description:  To enhance the music ministry of Beulah United Methodist Church by providing musical leadership and accompaniment for the congregation and choir.

Responsibilities:

§  To promote the spiritual life of the congregation through the music ministry

§  To be familiar with and to actively support the overall vision and goals of the church, including participation in outreach efforts into the community

§  To be supportive of the pastor, working collaboratively and communicating frequently to coordinate music for various church services

§  Provide organ and/or piano accompaniment for the congregation and choir during Sunday morning worship and at choir rehearsals.  Musical offerings on Sunday may include hymns, anthems, special music, solos, prelude, offertory, postlude, recessional, response, communion music, and cantatas during the Christmas and Easter seasons.

§  Provide organ and/or piano accompaniment for the congregation and choir for other special worship services as discussed with the pastor

§  Work with the pastor on music selection for worship services

§  Be open and available to work with the pastor regarding the role of music in the ministry of the church and to schedule appropriate rehearsals as needed with the choir.

§  Recruit and prepare substitutes to perform during scheduled absences, in consultation with the pastor

§  May provide music for weddings and funerals
